Printed Kicks
A print-on-demand brand was paying Facebook to create demand that competitors captured on Google. Closing that gap produced roughly $70,000 in sales on under $18,000 of ad spend.
The situation
PrintedKicks.com is an online retailer of print-on-demand apparel, shoes, seat covers, and accessories, selling to a highly specific audience it had built largely through paid social.
The challenge
The company was investing heavily in Facebook Ads, and it was working — but only halfway. Customers would see a product on Facebook, then go to Google to look it up. Printed Kicks had no presence there, so competitors intercepted prospects that Printed Kicks had already paid to warm up. The demand was real; the capture was leaking to someone else.
What we did
- Stood up Google Shopping to catch the demand Facebook was already generating
- Targeted high-intent product searches such as “Thin Blue Line Shoes” where purchase intent was unambiguous
- Suppressed bids on low-quality tangential terms so budget stayed on the searches that convert
- Aligned the Google presence with the Facebook creative already in market, so the two channels reinforced each other
Results
“Using our keyword targeting strategy, we were able to drive almost $70,000 in sales from Google Shopping on just under $18,000 in ad spend.”
